I had been given an orchid by a co- volunteer at WRCNU when Dad passed away. For three years, I had kept it alive, but it was in need of repotting badly. No matter how many YouTube videos I watched, I was not confident in repotting it, especially with a couple of the roots that had grown to over 8″ long.

After a long search of local orchid society members, I ended up taking it to Orchid Dynasty in SLC. For a nominal fee, they repotted it and sent me home with care instructions.

Seems like an odd topic for the blog, but it was interesting that this was a normal service they provide … apparently, I am not the only one missing this skill in mytoolkit! It must be a fairly lucrative business because they were several days out on getting it done. Hopefully, now that it has been repotted, it will rebloom.
